TUI BLUE The Haven Resort, Ipoh: A Room & Resort Review

During a recent road trip from the Cameron Highlands to Penang, we made a stop at TUI BLUE The Haven Resort in Ipoh for a night of relaxation. After staying at the Smokehouse Hotel and visiting Hobbitoon and the Mossy Forest, we were looking forward to a peaceful break, and The Haven didn’t disappoint.

Known for its stunning views of limestone cliffs and a serene natural lake, this resort offered the perfect balance of luxury and tranquility. The views were simply stunning both from below and our balcony on the 20th floor.

2. First Impressions: Arrival and Check-In

Located about 20 minutes from Ipoh’s city centre, The Haven Resort is set amidst breathtaking natural surroundings. Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the tranquil atmosphere and lush greenery that enveloped the property.

The check-in process was smooth, with the friendly staff offering a warm welcome and a quick overview of the resort’s facilities.

The resort itself feels like a secluded retreat, with three towers that overlook a natural lake surrounded by limestone cliffs. After a busy day of exploring nearby attractions, arriving at The Haven felt like the perfect escape into nature.

The One-Bedroom Suite in Tower A

Our one-bedroom suite in Tower A offered a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The spacious living area featured a plush sofa, a large flat-screen TV with Netflix, and a dining table. The kitchenette was fully equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, and complimentary Nespresso machine, along with snacks like biscuits and chips.

The bedroom was cosy, with a comfortable king-sized bed, another TV, and large windows that filled the room with natural light. The bathroom was modern, featuring a luxurious rain shower and soft bathrobes.

The balcony, with its stunning view of the lake and towering limestone cliffs, was the perfect place to relax after a long day of travel.

4. Resort Amenities: Relaxation & Activities

The Haven Resort is designed with relaxation in mind, and its facilities reflect that. The seahorse-shaped pool is one of the main attractions, offering plenty of space to swim or simply lounge by the water. The pool overlooks the natural lake, adding to the serene atmosphere.

For those looking for more activity, there are nature walks around the lake, allowing you to explore the beautiful surroundings up close.

5. Dining at The Haven Resort

One of the highlights of our stay was the food at The Haven’s on-site restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious dinner that featured a mix of local and international dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. We tried the Laksa and the Fish Curry.

The breakfast spread the next morning was equally impressive, with plenty of options, from traditional Malaysian dishes to Western favourites. The restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere, paired with its view of the lake, made for a pleasant dining experience.

6. Service & Hospitality: Friendly and Personalised Attention

The staff at The Haven were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. From the efficient check-in process to the warm service at the restaurant, we felt well taken care of.

Any requests were handled quickly, and the overall level of hospitality enhanced the resort’s already peaceful atmosphere. It’s clear that attention to detail is a priority here, making the experience feel personal and welcoming.
