Garden Palace Boutique Hotel Review — A Hidden Gem in Kusadasi Old Town

Right in the heart of Kusadasi Old Town, just steps from the harbour and the bazaar, sits a small boutique stay that captures the spirit of Turkey’s Aegean coast — the Garden Palace Boutique Hotel.

We stayed here during our island-hopping trip through Greece and Turkey, filming this review to show what the hotel offers, what makes it special, and what to know before booking. The location couldn’t be better if you want to explore on foot — with cafés, local restaurants, and the ferry terminal all within a few minutes’ walk. Although the initial road is prehaps a little bit of a surprise!

If you’re planning to visit Kusadasi, either as part of a cruise stop or a longer stay to see Ephesus, this is one of those rare finds that feels both local and comfortable — a hidden gem in the truest sense and the family who run this are incredibly helpful.

Rooms & Facilities

The Garden Palace Boutique Hotel has a handful of rooms, each one styled a little differently but with the same warm, local character . The rooms are simple yet charming, with comfortable beds, good air conditioning, that make them feel homely rather than hotel-like.

Bathrooms are modern and spotless, and although all apart from one thst we saw dont have a terrace or balcony the garden in the name of the hotel is truely lovely and a welcome place to relax and a busy day sightseeing.

It’s not a luxury resort — and it doesn’t try to be — but everything is well-kept and tastefully done.

There’s a small courtyard café where breakfast is served each morning (fresh fruit, local cheese, olives, pastries, and proper Turkish coffee, of course). In the evenings, it turns into a quiet spot for a drink or to unwind after a day exploring Ephesus or the nearby beaches. Wi-Fi is reliable, and while there’s no pool, the sea is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Service & Value

This is a family-run hotel, and that warmth shows. The staff are friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, always ready to help with local recommendations or ferry information. There’s a relaxed rhythm to life here — no rush, no crowds, just calm hospitality in the middle of a busy town.

In terms of value, the Garden Palace Boutique Hotel offers an excellent balance. You’re paying for location and atmosphere, not marble lobbies or room service, and for many travellers, that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s particularly well suited for couples, short breaks, or anyone connecting between Greek islands and the Turkish coast.

We’d happily stay again — especially as a stopover before or after a ferry to Samos or a cruise embarkation in Kusadasi.

Final Thoughts

If you love hotels with character and charm, the Garden Palace Boutique Hotel is worth a look. It captures that “local feel” that large resorts simply can’t replicate — and its location in Kusadasi Old Town is arguably one of the best in the area. We did this shortly after our cruise on Explora 1

It’s not perfect — there’s no lift, and being in the old town means the occasional early-morning delivery noise — but those are small trade-offs for such a central, authentic stay.
